The name, Demao, is derived from auspicious words.
●Bajia
Zhangzhou immigrant Pan Shengqing first cultivated this land. Quanzhou immigrants Chen and Kuo later also came here from Tamsui for land cultivation. The name of this place is thus related to land cultivation.
●Xiayuankeng
Xiayuankeng is named for terrain within the area. The word Xia denotes downward orientation; the word Yuan is derived from the Chinese character meaning "circular"; the word Keng denotes a small river valley. The place is reclaimed by Quanzhou immigrants.
●Xiaguliao
Xiaguliao was renamed Kamakura during Japanese colonial period for its scenic beauty that highly resembles scenery in Kamakura. During 1960s, Baisha Bay Swimming Beach opened and gained much reputation; the place was therefore renamed from Kamakura to Baishawan.
●Biwei
Biwei is the tip of Linshan Cape. Tens of people live here.
●Ding Xinzhuangzi
Ding Xinzhuangzi borders on Xinzhuangzi, Sanzhi District.
●Dadaogong Mountain
Dadaogong Mountain was bought by Daxigong Deity Worship Association in the past. Most parts of the mountain have been converted to cemeteries.
