Laomei Village

The word "Laomei" is derived from the name of an indigenous tribe. The tribe was reportedly relocated to this place due to the pressure from Han encroachment. The Han farmers settling here initially translated this name as "Babui" and then changed it into "Loboe", a pronunciation very close to "Laomei".
