Laomei Sea
A normal seashore is either sandy or rocky, but here at Laomei Sea Groove you get to see both the sandy and rocky part of the shore. Coastal erosion is strong at this area, leaving engraved grooves and lines that are 50cm for average depth and 2km in total length on the rocks.
Reefs here were formed from lava and suited for algae growth. When algae die, their remains form a thin layer of lime mud, and new algae sprout from it. Such algal life cycle makes the beautiful algal reef scenery.
With April capturing the most beautiful moment of Laomei Sea Groove, Mid-March to early-May marks the prime season for visiting. During the time, stone reefs across the seacoast are covered in green algae, forming lines of beautiful "green stone groove".
